Embrace the Journey of Creativity: Empowering Your Feelings and Emotions

Emotions are a powerful force that guides us on a journey through life. In the context of art, they are often depicted as a rollercoaster of highs and lows, twists and turns. From the joy of love and happiness to the pain of loss and heartbreak, our emotions shape the way we experience the world around us. Through art, we can explore and express these emotions in a way that words alone cannot capture. It is through this journey of emotions that we truly understand the depth and complexity of life.

Many times I have been asked what my pictures mean, and every time I reply, "My meaning is different to yours, what do you see, what do you feel?" Late to the game where art is concerned really, I mean I've always dabbled but never really got very far, pencil drawings and a bit of modest colouring in, but no painting or real training, no art teachers pushing me, no college tutors no university degree, no motivation at all. My main motivation at school was to get the hell away from all those hideous girls, all the bullying and sarcastic comments about weight an inability to be one of the gang, I never wanted to be in a gang, but so very desperately wanted to be liked, there were a few, I think they liked me, but i guess I'll never know. I left and never went back, and to this day don't see anyone I ever went to secondary school with.

So now, mid-fifties, I've come along way, digital art is a thing, a big thing and I am in love, properly in love with art again. Starting with a pretty basic camera and people liking those pictures they became the base for image editing, photography, again, no training nothing on paper to say I can do it, just an eye for what works, I never proclaim to be “a photographer” or an “artist” I just like some of the stuff I do.

Art is evocative, subjective and therapeutic. Sometimes I’ll get an idea and I’ll try desperately to get that image into Photoshop, it’ll work or it won’t, sometimes I’ll start with a base image and go from there, it will always evolve, sometimes a song will bring the image.

A wise man once said to me...

“Don’t think. Feel”

And that’s exactly what you should do.
